She received a Convent of Mercy education in Co Mayo before legal studies at Trinity College, Dublin.  She graduated with an LLB from Trinity in 2002.

In 2003 she qualified as an Attorney at Law for the State of New York.

She has worked as a political advisor in Dáil Éireann, as campaign co-ordinator for the Democratic Party in New York, and recently in public relations for a State Agency in Dublin.

She was elected to represent the Pembroke Ward on Dublin City Council in June, 2004.

Lucinda has vast experience both nationally and internationally. She has served as a member of the Young Fine Gael National Executive, Fine Gael's Executive Council, and acted as Vice-chairperson to George Birmingham SC on a special Fine Gael Taskforce charged with rejuvenating the party in the capital in 2003.

She represents the Party at international level, and serves on the Board of YEPP (the Young European Christian Democrats) and was selected by the Government to represent Ireland at the Youth Convention on the Future of Europe in Brussels.

In 2004 she served on an advisory committee to the Department of Education for the Irish Presidency of the EU.

Lucinda lives in Donnybrook, and is engaged in a number of local activities and campaigns.

Her priorities include improving our local community centres; improved planning in the city; conservation of local heritage; development of local amenities; effective waste management and a focused effort to address crime rates.

Education is a major priority, as she believes strategic investment in education allows children attain their full potential, particularly those from socially deprived areas. This is fundamental to both social and economic development, which will benefit society as a whole.

As a member of the National Housing Forum, she is deeply involved in housing strategy.  She organises an annual fundraising event for homeless charities in Dublin.

In her role as a member of Dublin City Council, Lucinda has been nominated to a number of Boards, including that of Temple Bar Properties and Donnybrook Hospital.  She is also a member of the South East Inner City Drugs Task Force and is the Fine Gael nominee to the City of Dublin Vocational Education Committee.

She is a member of the Special Policy Committee on Traffic and Transport.  She also actively liaises with all local resident's associations, is actively involved in the consultation process on Lansdowne Road Stadium Development, and supports the work of Combined Residents Against the Incinerator (CRAI).

Lucinda was named Magill Magazine's "One to Watch" in their 2006 Politician of the Year Awards.
